Austin Area Expected To Be Hit With Heavy Rain, Flooding This Weekend
After a pair of beautiful, sunny days following Wednesday's heavy rains, another storm is expected to arrive from the Pacific Northwest.

AUSTIN, TX -- The calm after the Wednesday storm was in dramatic display throughout Central Texas, with temperatures hovering in the low 80s throughout the day, with a low temp of 63 degrees expected for tonight.
It was, as they say, chamber of commerce weather -- and tomorrow one can expect similar conditions. It's nice, isn't it? Well, don't get too used to it.
The weather is expected to take another severe turn this weekend. It'll be kind of a repeat from the storms on Wednesday that dumped up to three inches in some parts, and accompanied by hail in other areas in the region. This weekend, potentially heavy rain, flooding and severe weather could start brewing by Sunday, according to meteorologists.

The weather folks at KVUE-TV say a storm that's moving onshore to the Pacific Northwest will be the source once it hits our area. Over the next of couple of days, the storm will detach from the jet stream, KVUE forecasters say.
"In other words, it will site and spin for many days," they report, just to bum you out that much more.

Almost as if sensing our collective ennui over the news, KVUE forecasters add: "Here is the good news, if you have plans to see the Longhorns in the Orange & White spring football game, the weather should hold up well. Aside from a few light showers from time to time on Saturday, the bulk of the action will be in west Texas."
Well, that's something anyway. Good news, right?
"However, once Sunday comes around, the rain will come down like cats and dogs," KVUE forecasters add, as if intent on taking us on an emotional roller coaster. Or, as if acting as mercurially as the Texas weather.
In any event, it's best to be prepared for such climactic activity. In all seriousness, such storm formations tend to result in flooding in some areas and hazardous road conditions on low-water crossings.
So do brace yourselves for another round of storms, coming our way again soon. And please be safe out there.
