Austin-Area Grocery Store Hours For Easter Sunday, April 21, 2019

HEB closes to allow employees to spend the day with families, while other chains remain open. Here's a list for those last-minute shoppers:

AUSTIN, TEXAS — HEB grocery stores will be closed this Sunday for Easter on Sunday, April 21, a traditional day off the Texas-based chain gives to its employees in allowing them to spend time with their families. Other stores will remain open for the religious holy day, while others will alter their hours.

So know your store closures in advance to avoid a mad dash for Easter meal ingredients to a grocer only to find it closed. We've seen this happen to people. Here's a rundown:

  • Aldi: All Aldi stores, including the one in Pflugerville, are closed on Easter Sunday. Aldi is among the most generous retailers in terms of giving holidays off for its workers, also closing stores on New Year’s Day, Thanksgiving Day and Christmas Day in enabling employees to spend time with their families.
  • Costco: All Costco stores close on Easter, as they do on New Year's Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving and Christmas.
  • Fiesta Mart: Stores remain open on Easter Sunday, but it's suggested you check with the customer service department or your local store for specific holiday hours. The observed holidays for the chain include New Year's Day, Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day and New Year's Eve.
  • Fresh Plus: The Austin Fresh Plus organic stores appear to have scheduled regular hours on Easter. There are local stores Clarksville, 24th Street, Anderson Lane and Hyde Park.
  • HEB: Easter: All stores closed, curbside closed and home delivery closed. The grocery store chain will be open regular hours the day before Easter, with curbside open from 7:30 a.m. to 10 p.m. and home delivery from 7:30 a.m. to 10 p.m. Regular hours also resume the day after Easter, including curbside from 9 a.m. to 10 p.m. and home delivery opening at 9 a.m.
  • Natural Grocers: Most stores closed on Easter. The store at 3901 Guadalupe St. can be reached at (512) 323-5100 while the site at The Shops at Arbor Walk, 10515 N. Mopac Expressway can be reached at (512) 231-9200.
  • Randalls: According to the company website, all Randalls stores will remain open on Easter. For individual stores hours and locations, click here.
  • Sam's Club: All Sam's Club locations are closed on Easter Sunday.
  • Sprouts Farmers Market: Round Rock and Cedar Park stores open from 7 am. to 10 p.m. Austin stores have the same Sunday hours save the 6920 Manchaca Rd. location that's open until 11 p.m. on Sundays. Check Sprouts Farmers Market individual store hours and locations here.
  • Target: All Target stores close on Easter.
  • Trader Joe's: With the exception of its store in Portland, Maine, all Trader Joe's stores will close at 5 p.m. on Easter.
  • Walmart: Open regular hours during Easter.
  • Wheatsville: The two cooperative stores will be open during Easter Sunday regular hours from 7:30 a.m. to 11:30 p.m. There are two Wheatsville locations in Austin: 3101 Guadalupe St., (512) 478-2667, and 4001 S Lamar Blvd., (512) 814-2888.
  • Whole Foods: Open all day on Easter, from 7 a.m. to 10 p.m.
