Austin-Bound United Airlines Jet From Houston Lands Safetly After Cockpit Fumes Reported

The incident comes in the wake of a widely viewed video showing a passenger being dragged off an overbooked flight in Chicago.

AUSTIN, TX — The last couple of days have not been great for United Airlines.

On the heels of a widely shared video showing security officers forcibly removing a passenger off an airplane that was overbooked in Chicago, a United Airlines jet from Houston reported an emergency on Tuesday on approach to the Austin airport after fumes were reported in the cockpit.

Austin-Bergstrom International Airportofficials told the Austin American-Statesman that the plane landed safely on Tuesday afternoon. The pilot on United flight 118 had reported the fumes, but the plane arrived safely and no injuries were reported.
