  1. During "an interview with Tesla Owners of Silicon Valley, an official Tesla-recognized club," last month in Austin, Elon Musk said, "Tesla Inc.'s (TSLA.O) new car factories in Texas and Berlin are 'losing billions of dollars' as they struggle to increase production because of a shortage of batteries and China port issues." For details on the interview visit: (Reuters)
  2. "According to a study from Florida Atlantic University, "Austin homebuyers are paying far more than many other homebuyers in the U.S." In the study, researchers said, "homebuyers in the city are paying a whopping 67.7 percent more for homes than they would in a normal housing market." Per the study, "that makes Austin the second-most overpriced metropolitan city in the country." For more details on the study, please visit: (KVUE.com)
  3. In order to help with the "space crisis" at the Austin Animal Center, they will be "waiving all adoption fees until further notice" and will be holding several pet-related events in town. Kelsey Cler, marketing and communication manager at the center, said, "We are housing dogs in crates in our conference room and we even rented an air-conditioned construction trailer to put crates in." She added, "Unfortunately all of those spaces are now full, and our only option is to house dogs in crates outside in front of evaporation coolers." For upcoming events and to learn how to help, please visit: (AustinTexas.gov)
  4. On Wednesday, June 22, "The Texas Department of Transportation held a ribbon cutting for the Interstate 35 at Parmer Lane project." The new project is "a part of Texas Clear Lanes, an initiative to address congestion in several major Texas cities." With the project finalized, "I-35 at Parmer Lane now has a diverging diamond interchange rather than a traditional intersection. It also has a new southbound I-35 bypass lane and rebuilt northbound intersection bypass lane." For more details on this and other Austin Texas Clear Lane projects, visit: (KVUE.com)
  5. From Aug. 5-20, the Austin Playhouse located at 405 West 22nd will present "Previews of Departing Attractions, a collection of short plays by local playwright Lowell Bartholomee." Tickets are "on sale now at austinplayhouse.com/previews." In addition, the playhouse recently announced the cast, and you can read all about it by visiting: (Broadway World)
