AUSTIN, TX — Austin Community College, the Austin Chamber of Commerce Mayor Steve Adler will present the 2019 Workforce Development Report: Innovation, Collaboration & Transformation at the President’s Breakfast later this month, officials announced on Wednesday.
The Aug. 21 reveal at the chamber's board room, 535 E. 5th St., will occur during the event scheduled from 7:30 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. The report examines the most urgent workforce needs in Central Texas and ACC’s progress toward improving access, persistence, and completion rates, organizers explained.
“To widen the pipeline of skilled workers, the college must examine how it may better serve all students, particularly those underrepresented in higher education,” Dr. Richard Rhodes, ACC president/CEO, explained in a prepared statement. “Addressing workforce needs requires a multi-stakeholder collaboration. The Austin Chamber and Mayor Adler share in our vision to build a stronger economy through highly affordable and accessible education.
