Austin Restaurants Poised To Offer Special Mother's Day Brunches
Taking mom out for brunch on her special day May 13 is made easier given the bevy of options throughout the area.

AUSTIN, TX — Mother's Day is right around the corner (it's Sunday, May 13), and it's time to start planning for her special day if you haven't already. A gift would be nice (this is the woman who gave you life, after all), and a nice brunch would prove memorable for her.
You're on your own with the former. And you're in luck with the latter as multiple fine eateries in the area are planning special brunch menus for you to show appreciation for dear old mom. Here are some of those brunch offerings, with details on their culinary offerings provided by each eatery:

Treat mom to brunch and a show at Café Blue at the Galleria, where staff will be offering their popular Mother's Day brunch from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. The brunch features slow-roasted prime rib. oysters on the half shell, shrimp cocktail, breakfast favorites, including blueberry pancakes, eggs benedict, migas, and made-to-order omelets, lunch favorites, including cedar plank salmon, Caesar salad, and maple pecan brussels sprouts, and desserts such as cheesecake bites, carrot cake trifle, and their famous fresh-squeezed key lime pie. Say thanks to mom with brunch offerings at Goodall’s Kitchen served from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. Goodall’s brunch menu features classics such as deviled eggs, ricotta hotcakes and a crab benedict. Every mom gets a complimentary mimosa and the option to get a manicure by Austin-based Cute Nail Studio. Free manicures are available from 10 a.m. to noon on a first come, first-serve basis. Brunch at the Hyatt Regency located on the shores of Lady Bird Lake in downtown Austin will feature a wide array of dining options ranging from breakfast favorites to fresh seafood including crab claws, oysters, and sushi rolls. The menu will also feature a carving station with herbed king salmon and beef tenderloin, as well as a several desserts including pineapple upside down cupcakes, triple ganache cake, and much more. The event will also include live music from Megan Flechaus, a local award-winning jazz, blues, and folk-influenced singer-songwriter, as well as several pop-up shops from local businesses including James Thomas Candle Co., South Austin Bath and Body, Knotty Mist macramé, and Bohemian Jewel.
“The Mother’s Day brunch will feature a delicious meal with everything from fresh seafood, sushi, and a meat carving station with smoked beef tenderloin, to salads, local meats and cheeses, and a variety of desserts,” Chef Reese Hay, executive chef at Hyatt Regency Austin, told Patch. “Not only can guests enjoy a delicious meal to celebrate the mothers in their life, but they can also enjoy live music, pop-up shops from local small businesses, and some of the best lakeside views in the city at our urban retreat.”
The buffet will feature a variety of breakfast options including house-made pastries and baked
goods, brisket hash, smoked pork sausage, as well as a made-to- order omelet and pancake bar,
among other favorites. The menu will comprise a variety of Texas meats and cheeses, and salad options including a charred asparagus salad with shaved parmesan and crispy prosciutto topped with a hollandaise vinaigrette, as well as a roasted vegetable platter with shaved asiago and aged balsamic vinegar.
Guests can also enjoy a variety of fresh seafood options ranging from crab claws and oysters to
freshly prepared sushi rolls from the hotel’s Marker 10 restaurant. The buffet will also include a
carving station with herbed king salmon topped with peach barbecue sauce and lemon chive aioli,
and a smoked beef tenderloin with roasted onion pan jus and a horseradish thyme crema.

Hyatt Regency Lost Pines’ Mother’s Day brunch buffet will include a complimentary glass of champagne
for each adult guest, and a “Build Your Own Mimosa” station in which guests will be able to add a
selection of several juices such as pineapple and orange juice to pomegranate and cranberry juice.
The brunch buffet will feature everything from breakfast favorites such as quiches, omelets, and gourmet
yogurt parfaits, to fresh seafood including gulf oysters, seared ahi tuna, sear-to-order crab cakes, and
much more. Guests can also enjoy entrees including salads, smoked prime rib, roasted pork loin, and
loaded macaroni and cheese, as well as a “Little Tikes” menu with several dining options for children.
Additionally, the brunch will showcase more than a dozen desserts including fresh fruit tarts, bananas
fosters cheesecake bites, petit pecan pies, and the resort’s signature chocolate fountain with dipping
options such as marshmallows, rice krispies treats, pound cake, brownies, and more. The Mother’s Day
brunch buffet is $68 for adults, $34 for children between the ages of six-years-old and 12-years-old and is

In addition to the brunch offerings, the resort’s Spa Django will also feature a special “Brunch &
Blowouts” option in which those who dine at the Mother’s Day brunch can also schedule a blowout at the

For those looking to put a French twist on Mother’s Day, Le Politique will feature a blueberries and cream tart special alongside its regular brunch service. Available from 10:30 a.m. to 3 p.m., Le Politique’s brunch menu features French classics such as the Bénédicte, made with Parisian ham, poached eggs and tomato marmalade on top of an English muffin, and the Galette Norvégienne made with smoked salmon, spinach and a sunny egg wrapped in an ale and buckwheat crêpe.
