According to the press release, the closures will impact city pools and splash pads, recreation centers, parks, athletic league games and rentals, the Zilker Botanical Garden, and most Golf ATX courses.

What Austin parks will be closed this weekend?

Pools & Splash Pads

  • Bartholomew, Colony Park, Springwoods, Barton Springs, Deep Eddy, and Big Stacy pools and Liz Carpenter Splash Pad are all closed as of noon Friday and operations won’t resume until temperatures return to above freezing and staff can proceed with de-winterization.

  • Parque Zaragoza, Montopolis, Turner-Roberts, Northwest, George Morales, and Gus Garcia rec centers will close Friday at 6 p.m. and reopen on either Monday or Tuesday as weather permits.
  • ATX Golf courses are closed as of Friday morning and will reopen depending on storm impacts.

Parks, Athletic League Games, & Rentals

  • Park restrooms and water fountains are shut down for winterization starting on Friday. The Emma Long Metropolitan Park camping area will be closed until at least Jan. 27.
  • All athletic league games and rentals are canceled as of Friday until the storm passes.

Zilker Botanical Barden

  • The Zilker Botanical Garden is closed until Monday, when it will reopen with a delayed start.

All of these closures are subject to change, particularly in the case of storm damage to any facilities. Keep up with the latest at AustinTexas.gov/ParkClosures for the latest information.
