Austin Woman Wanted In Deadly Shooting Caught Near San Antonio
Sasha Leigh Skare, 21, was taken into custody by the Special Operations Unit of the Converse Police Department on Thursday.

AUSTIN, TX — The woman wanted by police in connection to a deadly North Austin shooting two weeks ago was captured Thursday outside in Bexar County near San Antonio, officials confirmed.
Sasha Leigh Skare, 21, was taken into custody by the Special Operations Unit of the Converse Police Department at 3:30 p.m., officer Erik Sanchez said in an email to Patch. Austin police last week sought help from the public in locating Skare following a shooting at an apartment along the 1003 block of Justin Lane on Nov. 29.
Police said Andrew Bass, 21, was pronounced dead at the scene at the scene despite medics' efforts at resuscitation. Police also accuse Skare of trying to rob a second man at gunpoint during a drug deal during which he was shot in the leg and chest.

Police had offered a $1,000 reward for information leading to the arrest of Skare. After her capture, Skare was transported to the Bexar County jail for magistration, Sanchez said. She was located in northeast Bexar County after having fled from Austin after the shootings.

Converse is 12 miles east of San Antonio and 62 miles south of Austin.
