Suspect Sought After Downtown Austin Bank Robbed
Incident occurred just past 2:30 p.m. when possibly armed man wearing surgical-type mask entered lobby before running out with cash.
AUSTIN, TX — Police seek a suspect in a bank robbery that occurred on West Sixth Street on Thursday.
The incident occurred at around 2:37 p.m. at the BBVA Bank on 321 W. 6th St., Sgt. David Daniels told reporters at a subsequent press briefing. Daniels said a white male suspect entered the bank before indicating to a teller he had a weapon, although no such implement was displayed.
The suspect is said to have secured an undisclosed amount of cash before fleeing on foot traveling southbound on Guadalupe Street, the sergeant said.

The man's approximate age is unknown as he was wearing a surgical-type mask during the incident, Daniels said. Otherwise, he's described as a being about five feet, nine inches tall and roughly weighing 180 pounds.
