The Blanton Museum of Art's Summer Dance Series kicks off with tango lessons, artful activities, and much more! Enjoy a full day or art, live music, art talks, bites and bevs, and new exhibitions.

Dance Lesson by Esquina Tango
Join in for two 30-minute dance lessons then practice what you've learned with some live music.

Artmaking with Crafternoon ATX
Create a fun, magnet collage craft.

Bubble Rodeo with Central Texas Face Painting

Look & Listen Storytime
A favorite for young visitors (ages 4–8): a picture book paired with a work of art, themed around shapes and colors. Presented with support from Alienated Majesty Books. 10:30 a.m. & 11:30 a.m.

Looking Together
Explore a visitor-favorite in the collection through shared observation and conversation, using creative ways of looking to make connections and meaning. Recommended for ages 12 and up. 1 p.m.

Curator’s Choice Tour
Take a closer look at works from the Blanton’s collection in this special tour led by museum staff.

Art with an Expert:
Join artist, educator, and author Sharon Louden for a lively conversation about sustaining a creative life. Louden’s book Last Artist Standing: Living and Sustaining a Creative Life Over 50 highlights the lives of artists who continue to create, contribute, and lead across decades of practice. Followed by a Q&A. 3 p.m.
