Ballet Austin TWO invites audiences to look to the stars with The Seventh Night Sky, a new family-friendly ballet inspired by the Vietnamese celebration of the Double Seventh Festival (Thất Tịch) and the enduring legend of two lovers separated by the Milky Way. The production runs for eight performances only, all matinees, October 10–11 and October 17–18 at Ballet Austin’s AustinVentures StudioTheater.
The Seventh Night Sky is Chapter III of Ballet Austin TWO’s Fables of the World series and was created by acclaimed Vietnamese-born choreographer Thang Dao with original music by Duy Tran and James G. Lindsay. The Seventh Night Sky blends classical ballet, contemporary movement, and Vietnamese dance to create a visually rich journey through love, loss, memory and hope.
