AUSTIN, TX — It may have escaped your notice, but Saturday is Peruvian Independence Day. And there is arguably no better place to celebrate in Austin than at Yuyo.

The city's only contemporary Peruvian restaurant, Yuyo will celebrate the independence of the South American nation with a special handcrafted cocktail, a festive Peruvian dish and $5 Pisco Punch, officials said.

Pero no es todo (but that's not all): Through July 29th, Yuyo will offer delicious off-the-menu food and drink specials to celebrate the occasion. To drink, guests can enjoy the Lima Libre cocktail ($12), made with mesquite smoked pisco, lime, ají limo, simple syrup and egg whites. A traditional Peruvian entree called Chaufa, a fried rice with pork and shrimp that is often served at gatherings in Peru, will be on offer for $17. On Saturday, July 28th there will be $5 Pisco Punch all day.
