Coronavirus: WilCo Cases Nears 1,500 Mark, 87 New Cases

There are 732 active cases across the county, including 94 patients being treated at intensive care units and 32 placed on respirators.

WILLIAMSON COUNTY, TX — The number of cases of the coronavirus jumped to 1,498 on Tuesday, an increase of 87 from the day before. The fatality count remained unchanged at 32.

Updated illness rates are tallied up daily on the Williamson County and Cities Health District statistical dashboard. According to the portal, 722 people have recovered since contracting the virus, but 732 active cases remain — 94 treated at intensive care units and 32 placed on respirators.

The most active cases of respiratory illness in Williamson County are in:

  • Round Rock: 273 cases.
  • Georgetown: 152 cases.
  • Cedar Park: 103 cases.
  • Other: 83 cases.
  • Leander: 49 cases.
  • Hutto: 39 cases.

A Williamson County spokesperson previously told Patch the "other" category refers to areas of the county with populations of less than 20,000 about which officials aren't legally required to provide data.

WILLIAMSON COUNTY, TX — The number of cases of the coronavirus stood at 1,411 as of Monday, an increase of 74 cases from the day before. The fatality count remained unchanged at 32.

To date, 698 patients have recovered from the respiratory illness since first contracting the virus. There were 671 active cases as of Monday. There were 18 patients hospitalized — an increase of three from Sunday — including six being treated in intensive care units and three placed on ventilators.

The figures were updated on a statistical dashboard maintained by the Texas Department of State Health Services.
