Winning Texas Lotto Numbers For Aug. 12, 2017: $6.25 Million Jackpot (Updates)

UPDATES: — On Saturday evening, the winning numbers for the Texas Lotto were drawn. The jackpot is an estimated $6.25 million, with a cash payout option valued at $4.25 million.

The winning numbers are: 5, 8, 16, 24, 25 and 46.

There was no Lotto Texas jackpot winner for Saturday's drawing. This means the jackpot has now grown further to $6.75 million (and growing) with a cash payout of $4.74 million for the next drawing on Aug. 16.

AUSTIN, TX — While lottery players' attention is largely focused on the upcoming Powerball jackpot now valued at close to $360 million, the Texas Lotto prize has quietly been growing too — now up to $6.25 million, or a cash option of about $4.56 million.

Yes, there is a vast difference between $360 million and $6.25 million — the difference between potentially being among the uber-rich and being respectably wealthy. But cashing in to $4.56 million is nothing to sneeze at, and the odds of hitting that Texas lottery jackpot are not as astronomical as the one for Powerbal — the national lottery in which 44 states, including Texas, participate.

Nobody drew the winning numbers in the last draw on Wednesday for the Texas Lotto, prompting Saturday's prize to grow to more than $6 million. In case you bought a ticket on Wednesday but haven't checked the winning numbers, they were: 1, 7. 24, 27, 35 and 44.

One needn't have to get all the numbers to win prizes, with $2 paid for those matching a couple of them with incrementally higher prizes as more are matched. At Wednesdays drawing, 28,250 people won $2 after matching two of six numbers. At the higher end (short of all six numbers), one lucky player using the Extra! option won $12,717 after matching five digits.
