Food Delivery Service Favor Launches Austin Runner Clubhouse
The Lavaca Street site allows delivery people dubbed 'runners' to engage socially with each other as a community.

AUSTIN, TX — Locally based food deliver service Favor on Tuesday announced the opening of its Austin Runner Clubhouse, the on-demand delivery app’s first dedicated space for its delivery workers dubbed "Runners," where they can get assistance, attend orientations, and engage with fellow employees.
Designed by Favor’s creative team, the Runner Clubhouse’s location, features, and amenities were developed with the Runner in mind every step of the way, according to company officials.
“Personalized service is the key to our customer experience and we believe in taking the same approach with our Runners,” said Favor CEO & President Jag Bath. “Every employee at Favor, including myself, is also a Runner. We run at least three hours every month, so we know first-hand how invaluable face-to-face assistance is to the Runner experience.”

Conveniently located in downtown Austin at 1718b Lavaca St., the Runner Clubhouse features a custom mural hand-painted by members of Favor’s Creative team that depicts iconic spots and landmarks around Austin, a cell phone charging station, restrooms, complimentary refreshment area, community bulletin board, and a take-one-leave-one library, officials explained.

“We are a people business, built around our Runners,” Bath said. “It was essential that we create a space that fosters a sense of community, while also providing anything a Runner needs to be successful, whether that’s attending an orientation, getting help with the app in-person, picking up a new tux tee, or simply stopping by to relax and charge their phone.”

As consumer demand for Favor’s delivery service continues to grow rapidly, the company is on-boarding more than 25,000 Runners in 2017, including 7,000 in its Austin market that will be onboarded more efficiently than ever with the addition of the Austin Runner Clubhouse, officials said. The Runner Clubhouse is hosting 50 new Runner orientations per week -- one session nearly every hour Monday through Saturday —making it even easier to start "running," officials added.
As independent contractors, Runners choose their own hours and keep 100 percent of their tips. Austin residents interested in becoming a Runner can visit: https://apply.favordelivery.com/.
In addition to Runner orientations, The Runner Clubhouse will host a number of events for Runners, including meetups, sessions ranging from professional headshots to Create-Your-Own Runner Gif workshops, and Tux Talks — an ongoing live Q&A series where Runners can ask questions and get a behind-the-scenes look at what’s new and upcoming at Favor directly from Favor leadership and product teams, officials said.
The Austin Runner Clubhouse is one of many in the works throughout Favor’s markets, with Runner Clubhouses in Dallas and Houston launching early next year, Favor officials noted.
