AUSTIN, TX — Hump day is about to get humpier and grumpier.
Bowing to stakeholders in the central business district, Austin City Council members agreed during Thursday's regular meeting to end free parking on Wednesday nights. As reported by KLBJ, council acceded to 19 downtown stakeholders who wanted the parking charges to be implemented.
"We asked the question should we meter on Wednesday nights? and overwhelmingly the response was yes, we should meter on Wednesday nights," Transportation Department Parking Enterprise Manager Jason Redfern said, as reported by the news station.
