Johnathon Aguilar, 34, had worked at the burrito restaurant for 13 years to support the wife and son he leaves behind.
AUSTIN, TX— A fundraiser has been launched to support the family of the Freebirds World Burrito worker who was fatally stabbed by a homeless man over the weekend.
Johnathon Aguilar, 34, was fatally stabbed on Friday, Jan. 3, in a knife attack at his workplace that left another worker in his 50s with serious injuries. Police on Monday identified his attacker as Dylan Woodburn, 27, a homeless man said to have injured a person during an altercation at an adjacent coffee shop on South Congress Avenue before going on a stabbing spree.
Described by police as an "upstanding citizen," during a Monday afternoon press conference, Aguilar was killed in a random attack for which no motive is known. Police on Monday also revealed Woodburn late Friday had succumbed to his own injuries sustained after running off the roof of the eatery.
