Ascension Seton nurse celebrated during Nurses Week
Victoria Riordan is a nurse at Ascension Seton Williamson

Victoria Riordan, nurse at Ascension Seton Williamson, is a go-getter and well ahead of her years in the nursing profession.
Victoria started her nursing career just four years ago at Ascension Seton Northwest. Today, she serves as a charge nurse in the operating room at Ascension Seton Williamson.
Prior to becoming a nurse, Victoria was interested in being a pilot. However, she took an interest in pediatric mental health, which led her down the healthcare route. When she began her career and was introduced to the operating room, she took an immediate interest.

“I fell in love with the fast-paced environment and team work required in the operating room,” said Victoria. “A patient’s friends and family see the outcome of their surgeries, but no one sees behind the scenes. It’s fascinating.”
After two years at Ascension Seton Northwest, Victoria wanted to increase her knowledge as a nurse in the operating room. She transferred to Ascension Seton Williamson for more complex cases. Management recognized her passion as a nurse and began helping her find ways to grow.

Victoria took leadership classes, earned the CFPN certification, and actively participated in relevant associations and committees.
Looking ahead, Victoria is exploring additional opportunities to develop her career at Ascension Seton, and her leaders continue to invest in her. Recently, she was nominated for Nurse of the Year at Ascension Seton Williamson.
Vicki Batson, surgical services director at Ascension Seton Williamson, shared this about Victoria: “She has completed the leadership pipeline and is working towards a supervisory role in the department. She has gained much poise and confidence in her abilities. She has had her share of challenging situations both as a clinician and as an informal leader, and her approach is always to try and learn and improve from each experience. When I am able to work alongside nurses such as Victoria, I am more hopeful that we will be in good hands with this new group of heroic and hopeful nurses.”
When she’s not at work, Victoria drives a motorcycle, and loves to travel and go to concerts.
