Gov. Abbott Extends Coronavirus Disaster Declaration In Texas
Texas has recorded more than 474,000 coronavirus cases and nearly 8,100 deaths. The declaration is in effect for all counties in the state.

AUSTIN, TX — Gov. Greg Abbott on Saturday extended a disaster declaration in response to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic in Texas. The declaration, originally issued on March 13, is in effect for all counties in the state.
The extension allows the state to continue providing resources to Texas counties effected by the coronavirus.
As of Friday, the state had recorded more than 474,000 confirmed cases of coronavirus and nearly 8,100 deaths, according to a Texas Health and Human Services tally.

In the declaration, Abbott urged all Texas to :remain vigilant in our fight against this virus."
"Everyone must do their part to slow the spread of COVID-19 by wearing a mask, practicing social distancing and washing your hands frequently and thoroughly,” he said. “We will overcome this challenge by working together."
