Here are the top stories today in Austin:
1) Austin PD investigating a homicide in North Austin. APD is investigating how a man was killed on Wednesday afternoon near a convenience store located in the 1200 block of Kramer Lane. According to CBS Austin: "Austin-Travis County EMS tweeted at 1:27 p.m. that a pedestrian had been killed in a collision at the address -- but APD clarified at a press briefing that the victim was never hit by a car, however, he did suffer blunt force trauma to his head."
No suspect has been taken into custody, and detectives are currently talking with witnesses and neighbors to determine what occurred. CBS Austin has more on this story here.
2) The proposed Travis County property tax rates are now available online. Austin Homeowners can now look up their address online to determine how the proposed tax rates could impact their 2022 property tax bills.

3) Good news: Austin Community College is offering free classes this fall. Looking to level up on your learning? ACC is offering individuals up to three free classes that can lead to an in-demand workforce credential. What a sweet deal?! Head to KLBJ to learn how you can participate.
4) Looking to make some extra cash? YMCA of Austin is looking to hire over 100 afterschool workers. YMCA of Austin currently has more than 100 seasonal full-time and part-time positions open.
