Homicide Victim, Suspect In Killing Near Manor, Texas, IDed

The fatal shooting occurred just before 8 p.m. outside the Capitol Wright Distributing building at the 10095 E. US 290 Highway service road.

AUSTIN, TX — Police on Friday identified the suspect and victim in a fatal shooting that occurred the night before near Manor, Texas.

The Thursday incident occurred just before 8 p.m. outside the Capitol Wright Distributing building at the 10095 E. US 290 Hwy eastbound service road. There, emergency personnel found a mortally wounded Richard Louis Scott, 41, suffering from gunshot wounds. He was rushed to Dell Seton Medical Center where he succumbed to his wounds by 8:25 p.m., police said.

After speaking with witnesses as part of their investigation, police arrested Tyree Washington, 22, in connection to the incident that was the culmination of an argument between the two men, according to a press advisory. The two were co-workers, police noted.

Police added the Travis County Medical Examiner's Office conducted an autopsy on Friday morning, determining the manner of the victim's death to have been homicide.
