AUSTIN, TX — The Texas Department of Transportation has released its weekly list of planned lane closures along Interstate 35, yielding a handy guide for savvy motorists seeking to avoid potential congestion.

You might call this version the holiday edition as it covers lane closures from Dec. 21-27 amid one of the most-traveled dates as drivers head off on Christmas break. Here's what drivers can expect in the way of lane closures along the stretch of the key artery:

I-35 FROM CORN HILL (BUD STOCKTON LOOP) TO FM 972

  • North and southbound I-35 frontage road reduced to one lane from FM 972 to Bud Stockton Loop
    • Until further notice

I-35 FROM RM 1431 TO FM 3406 (NORTHBOUND)

  • Northbound I-35 frontage road reduced to one lane from FM 3406 (Old Settlers Boulevard) to RM 1431 (University Boulevard)
    • Through late 2020

I-35 AT PARMER LANE

  • Southbound I-35 frontage road left lane closed daily at Parmer Lane
    • Through early 2020

I-35 FROM RUNDBERG LANE TO US 290 EAST

  • Northbound I-35 frontage road left lane closed from Camino La Costa to St. Johns Avenue
    • Through mid-2020
  • Northbound US 183 frontage road left lane closed from I-35 to Gessner Drive
    • Through mid-2020

I-35 AT POSEY ROAD

  • Posey Road bridge closed at I-35
    • Until further notice
  • Northbound I-35 exit #199 for Posey Road and exit #200 for Centerpoint Road are closed
    • Until further notice
