Interstate 35 Lane Closures For March 30-April 5, 2019

AUSTIN, TEXAS — The Texas Department of Transportation has released its weekly list of lane closures along Interstate 35, yielding a useful guide for motorists to avoid potential congestion. This week's list is for March 30 to April 5.

This weekend will be challenging for motorists. In addition to I-35 lane closures, several city streets will be blocked off for various events. Spring ushers in blooming plants and lush greenery, but it also sprouts various community events given the nice weather.

The kite fest, Texas Relays, a campaign stop by popular presidential candidate Beto O'Rourke and other events this weekend will require police to close a number of city streets. To learn more about these various closures, click on the story below:

I-35 AT CR 305

• I-35 frontage road left lane closed in both directions at CR 305
  • Through April 2019

I-35 FROM RUNDBERG LANE TO US 290 EAST

• Southbound I-35 U-turn closed at US 290 East
  • Through May 2019
• Powell Lane closed at I-35
  • Through April 2019
• St. Johns Avenue reduced to one lane in both directions across I-35
  • Until further notice
• Northbound I-35 left lane closed nightly between Wonsley Drive and US 183
  • Sunday, March 31 through Friday, April 5 from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m.
• Southbound I-35 reduced to one lane nightly between Wonsley Drive and US 183
  • Sunday, March 31 through Friday, April 5 from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m.
• Southbound I-35 U-turn closed nightly at US 183
  • Sunday, March 31 through Friday, April 5 from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m.
• Fenelon Drive closed at I-35. Use Rutherford Lane or Hermitage Drive.
  • Wednesday, April 3 through Friday, April 5 from 5 a.m. to 5 a.m.

I-35 AT OLTORF STREET

• Northbound I-35 left lane closed nightly at Woodland Avenue
  • Sunday, March 31 through Friday, April 5 from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m.
• Northbound I-35 frontage road left lane closed nightly at Woodland Avenue. The Woodland Avenue exit ramp (#232B) will also be closed.
  • Sunday, March 31 through Friday, April 5 from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m.
• Southbound I-35 right lane closed between Woodland Avenue and Oltorf Street. The entrance ramp before Oltorf street will also be closed.
  • Sunday, March 31 from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m.
• Various southbound I-35 frontage road closures between St. Edwards Drive and Woodward Street
  • Monday, April 1 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
• Southbound I-35 entrance ramp closed at Oltorf Street
  • Monday, April 1 from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m.
• Northbound I-35 reduced to one lane between Woodward Street and Oltorf Street
  • Tuesday, April 2 from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m.

I-35 FROM STASSNEY LANE TO WILLIAM CANNON DRIVE

• Southbound I-35 frontage road left lane closed daily between William Cannon Drive and Foremost Drive
  • Monday, April 1 through Friday April 5 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
• Northbound I-35 frontage road right lane closed daily between William Cannon Drive and Boggy Creek Drive
  • Monday, April 1 through Friday April 5 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
• Northbound I-35 frontage road right lane closed daily between Nelms Drive and Stassney Lane
  • Monday, April 1 through Friday April 5 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
• William Cannon Drive right turn lane closed at I-35
