Man Shot In Downtown Austin Near Capitol
Medics found victim at Red River and East 12th streets just after 8 p.m.suffering from serious but not life-threatening injuries.

AUSTIN, TX — A man was shot in downtown Austin Friday night, not far from the Capitol.
According to medics with Austin-Travis County EMS, the victim was found with a gunshot wound east of the Capitol building at Red River and East 12th streets just after 8 p.m. The man in his 30s sustained serious yet not life-threatening injuries, medics said. He was transported to Dell Seton Medical Center for treatment of his injuries.
Police reportedly had not made an arrest in the case. It's unclear what may have prompted the shooting.

It was the second shooting in Austin on Friday. About an hour-and-a-half after the incident near the Capitol, medics were dispatched to South Austin amid reports of a man in his 20s having been shot. The victim in that case also suffered serious but not life-threatening injuries.
