New Survey Shows Just How Impactful Coaches Are On Kids' Lives
On the heels of National Coaches Day, team funding app FlipGive reveals new survey data about coaches & its search for "Coach of the Year"

Chances are you had a coach who made a positive impact on your life growing up, and chances are you didn't know National Coaches Day took place on October 6. No matter the sport, thousands of adults from coast-to-coast put in countless hours on the field, in the gym, or at the rink. These coaches often volunteer their time and receive no benefit other than the joy, skill development, and life lessons they are providing their players.
Most youth sports coaches fly under the radar their whole careers even though they are worthy of recognition. That is why FlipGive, which has helped raise over $20 million for more than 35,000 youth sports teams across North America, is recognizing these overlooked heroes for National Coaches Day.
To measure the importance of coaches in kid’s lives, FlipGive surveyed 1,000 U.S. adults with children who play youth sports. The results are proof positive that coaches matter, far more than their wins and losses. Consider:

- 93% of American parents think sports coaches have a positive impact on youth’s lives.
- 87% of parents say their child looks up to his or her sports coach as a role model.
- 61% of Americans think coaches do not receive the recognition and appreciation they deserve.
Moreover, the love for youth sports coaches knows no bounds. According to the survey, the geographic range of coaches having the greatest impact on parents and players is as diverse as the skills they are teaching their teams.
