Noted Architect To Visit UT-Austin
Austin School of Architecture to host world-renowned architect Sir David Adjaye OBE to deliver key lecture next week.

AUSTIN, TX — The University of Texas at Austin School of Architecture will host world-renowned architect Sir David Adjaye OBE to deliver the 2019 Jean and Bill Booziotis Lecture in Architecture next week.
The Oct. 8 event is free and open to the public. Recognized as a leading architect of his generation, Adjaye is principal and founder of Adjaye Associates with offices in London, New York and Accra. The firm has completed work in Europe, North America, the Middle East, Asia, and Africa — having undertaken residential, commercial, planning, and research projects — but is best-known for its civic and cultural buildings such as the Smithsonian National Museum of African American History and Culture on the National Mall in Washington, D.C.; the Moscow School of Management; and Ruby City, an art center in San Antonio, which opens this October.
Adjaye Associates believes that architecture presents opportunities for transformation —materially, conceptually, and sociologically. Driven by the desire to enrich and improve daily life, the practice’s buildings are designed to meet the diverse needs of the communities they serve, and its philosophies have led to collaboration with international artists and cultural thinkers.

Adjaye’s lecture will take place at 4pm on Tuesday, October 8 in the Lady Bird Johnson Auditorium, located at 2313 Red River St. Parking is available in Lot 40 just north of the auditorium at the corner of East Dean Keeton and Red River Streets, or paid guest parking is available in Manor Garage at 2017 Robert Dedman Drive.
