It was also the second death of a motorcyclist on Austin streets in a week's span of time. On Dec. 12, Robert Lance Trewitt, 62, fell to his death after his bike was hit from behind along the 8400 block of Research Boulevard. A truck swerving onto the right lane to avoid a collision hit Trewitt's motorcycle, knocking Trewitt off the bike and over a retaining wall. He succumbed to his injuries the following day, police said.
