Divers Pull Body From Travis Lake After Man Goes Missing Over The Weekend

Emergency crews frantically searched for a 21-year-old man who was cliff-diving with friends on Sunday before failing to re-surface.

AUSTIN, TX — Members of the Travis County Sheriffs Office late Monday morning were performing the grim task of pulling a body out of Lake Travis, likely that of a young man who was cliff diving with friends over the weekend and failed to re-surface.

The recovery effort is taking place at 5973 Hiline Rd., officials said. Crews frantically searched for a 21-year-old man Sunday afternoon who went missing after diving off a cliff in the northern part of the lake. The man was with friends who arrived at the point via a party barge they had anchored nearby.

After about four hours of searching, emergency crews were advised their work would be one of recovery rather than rescue.
