Returning Students Poised For Big UT-Austin Mooov-in
Some 7,400 students will be moving into the 14 on-campus residence halls, representing 43 states and 39 countries.
AUSTIN, TX — The University of Texas at Austin is bracing for its busiest season yet in welcoming new and returning students to campus for the new school year — some 7,400 students moving into the 14 on-campus residence halls.
Mooov-In will mark the start of Longhorn Welcome in getting students prepared for the school year ahead. Although most incoming on-campus residents are from Texas, students traveling to Austin represent 43 states and 39 countries including El Salvador, Romania and South Africa —making Mooov-In one of their first Texas experiences.
WHEN: Friday, Aug. 23, 9 a.m. to 10 a.m.

WHERE: Central check-in at UFCU Disch-Falk Field, 1300 E. MLK Jr. Blvd.
BACKGROUND: Mooov-In is designed to help students feel welcome as they get settled into their personal living space on campus. More than 5,500 first-year students will call the Forty Acres home this year. With the help of about 400 faculty members, staffers and student volunteers, University Housing and Dining works to create a welcoming atmosphere that helps new Longhorns build community.

Mooov-In is the first of 12 Signature Events that make up Longhorn Welcome. Once students are settled, they can attend other events that celebrate Longhorn pride and tradition. Longhorn Welcome is hosted by a variety of campus partners and continues through Sept. 8.
