Shots Fired From Car Near UT-Austin Campus
University police issued an alert to students after shots were heard nearby, but noted they believe there is no ongoing threat to campus.

AUSTIN, TX — University of Texas at Austin campus police said they received a report of shots fired from a vehicle close to campus on Thursday, according to an emergency alert.
Police said the incident occurred at 10:20 a.m. at the corner of Dean Keeton and San Jacinto. The suspect and the intended victim apparently knew each other, police said, and the suspect immediately fled after the fired shots.
The suspect is described as a Hispanic male with short hair and wearing sweat pants, while his car is described as a white sedan with a rear spoiler.

Police continue to investigate the incident, and urge anyone with information to contact them. University police added they believe there is no ongoing threat to the campus in the incident's aftermath.
