Police Release Sketch Of South Austin Sexual Assault Suspect
Woman was punched multiple times in the face at Saratoga Apartments on 6307 Bluff Springs Rd. on Sept. 19 before she fled to safety.

UPDATE: Police on Friday, Sept. 27, released a sketch of a suspect wanted for an attempted sexual assault a week earlier at the Saratoga Apartments, 6307 Bluff Springs Rd. The sketch revises an earlier description of the suspect that noted he had tattoos under both eyes as opposed to one under his left eye only.

AUSTIN, TX — Police are seeking help from the public in identifying and locating a suspect wanted to an attempted sexual assault on Thursday morning.
The incident occurred at around 6 a.m. at the Saratoga Apartments on 6307 Bluff Springs Rd. on Thursday, police said in a press advisory. The woman told police she was walking in the complex when she saw the suspect. As she entered the breezeway, the suspect is said to have grabbed the women by the back of her robe while attempting to pull her to the ground.
The woman managed to fight off her attacker and free herself, police said, before the suspect tried to regain control by punching the victim in the face multiple times. Despite her injuries, the woman managed to free herself a second time before running to safety, according to police.
Although a composite sketch of the suspect has yet to be released, the Austin Police Department issued the following description:
- Black male.
- 5’8” – 6’0” in height.
- Thin build.
- Dark eyes.
- Dark complexion.
- Bald or very short dark hair.
- Wearing dark blue short sleeved shirt.
- Hairy arms.
- Tattoo under each eye about the size of a quarter in diameter.
- Spoke English.
Police declined to provide more details, citing the ongoing nature of the investigation: "We will not be providing interviews at this time as this is an ongoing investigation," police wrote in an email. "Once we have more information to provide, we will."
