Hello, neighbors! It's me again, Gabriela Couvillion, your host of the Austin Daily.

First, today's weather:

Mostly sunny and windy. High: 70 Low: 43.

Here are the top stories today in Austin:

  1. After three years of cancellations or virtual events due to COVID-19, this year's South by Southwest in Austin took place in-person from March 11-20, and although attendance was not as high as in the past, "it did mark a return to form." The 10-day tech festival featured music, film premiers, gadgets, video games, and much more! To see some of the highlights please visit: (Spectrum News)
  2. The Austin-Bergstrom International Airport (AUS) will be hosting two community meetings regarding "the Environmental Assessment of upcoming airport improvement projects comprising the Airport Expansion Development Program (AEDP)." The first meeting will be held virtually on Wednesday, March 23. It will start at 6 p.m. via Zoom and livestream on the airport's Facebook page. The second meeting will be on Saturday, March 26, at the airport's in-person Open House from 10 a.m. – 1 p.m. For more information visit: (AustinTexas.gov)
  3. On Saturday, April 23, "Forklift Danceworks and Austin Animal Center (AAC) will present a free community performance event called 'Dances for Dogs and People Who Walk Them.'" The performance "will feature the movement and stories of Austin Animal Center workers, local dog lovers, and their dogs" and the event will include "waived adoption fees, shelter tours, and activity booths with local pet vendors and community partners." The performance event will start at 2 p.m., but the doors will open for "guests with their dogs for the outdoor performance." Although the event "is free and open to the public, free ticket reservations are encouraged to guarantee entry," so please "sign up for Forklift's email newsletter to be one of the first to reserve tickets." For more information visit: (AustinTexas.gov)
