Texas (2-2) at Oklahoma (2-2) Football: Everything You Need To Know
Kickoff time, TV, point spread, tickets, parking, traffic and more.

AUSTIN, TX -- Typically, the Red River Shootout between Texas and Oklahoma is one of the Big 12’s marquee games. This year, however, the matchup, which will take place in the Cotton Bowl in Dallas, was demoted from ABC to Fox Sports One, which offers an indication of how disappointing both teams have been.
Embattled Longhorns coach Charlie Strong has parlayed victories over the Sooners in two of the past three seasons into metaphorical stays of execution from his detractors. This year, though, even a win over Oklahoma probably won’t matter as Strong may be fired at the end of the season regardless of how the rest of the year unfolds.
The Longhorns’ 49-31 defeat to Oklahoma State on Saturday may have been the final straw for Strong. Texas’ maligned defense gave up 392 passing yards and 3 touchdowns to Cowboys quarterback Mason Rudolph while Oklahoma State also gashed the Longhorns for 163 yards and 3 touchdowns on the ground. It’s going to be difficult for Texas to right the defensive ship against the Sooners, who beat TCU on Saturday 52-46 behind quarterback Baker Mayfield’s 274 yard, 2 touchdown day. The Sooners added five rushing touchdowns and totaled 260 yards on the ground, led by Joe Mixon’s 105 yards.
