Texas (3-3) at Kansas State (3-3) Football: Everything You Need To Know

Kickoff time, TV, point spread, tickets, parking, traffic and more.

AUSTIN, TX -- At halftime of its game against Iowa State, Texas trailed 6-3. After having lost three games in a row, the Longhorns were reeling and badly needed a spark. Texas got that in the form of a 37-yard scoring strike from quarterback Shane Buechele to Jerrod Heard, putting the Longhorns in front 10-6. That was the start of 24 consecutive Texas points that resulted in a 27-6 victory. It was the first time in 15 tries that a Charlie Strong-coached Texas team trailed at halftime and prevailed.

Buechele was efficient Saturday as he completed 26 of 38 passes for 296 yards, 2 touchdowns and 1 interception. The Longhorns also ran for 209 yards, paced by junior running back D’Onta Foreman (30 carries, 136 yards, 1 touchdown). After allowing 144 points in its last three weeks, the Texas defense showed massive improvement against the 1-6 Cyclones.

Kansas State has not been overwhelming this season, but the Wildcats are a far better team than Iowa State. Kansas State was trounced Saturday by Oklahoma 38-17, and was never in the game as it fell behind the Sooners 24-10 at halftime and 31-10 after three quarters. The Wildcats were held to 110 yards on the ground with their leading ground gainer (Jesse Ertz) only managing 40 yards. For the year, Kansas State has been efficient on the ground, averaging 4.8 yards per carry while running for 14 touchdowns.
