Texas DMV Offices Close Regional Service Centers Amid COVID-19
The closures took effect on Tuesday, but services and support will continue to be provided by mail, email, and telephone.
AUSTIN, TX — The Texas Department of Motor Vehicles said on Tuesday it would close its 16 Regional Service Centers would be closed to the public for in-person transactions to avert new coronavirus spread.
The closures took effect at the close of business day on Tuesday. Officials said services and support will continue to be provided by mail, email, and phone while in-person services are unavailable. The locations of the Regional Service Centers can be viewed by clicking here.
Located throughout Texas, Regional Service Centers provide specialized services to the public, including replacement titles, bonded title rejection letters, apportioned registration, annual permits for motor carriers, and the investigation and resolution of errors in Texas titles, officials explained.
