Two-Year-Old Girl Drowns After Falling Off Boat Dock At Lake Travis [UPDATED]
Family members tried in vain to revive the girl through CPR, but she was declared dead at the hospital.

Austin, TX -- A 2-year-old girl drowned after falling off a dock into Lake Travis on Saturday evening, the Travis County Sheriff's Office confirmed.
Lisa Block, a spokeswoman for the Travis County Sheriff's Office, told Patch a 911 call was received at 5:43 p.m. Upon their arrival, law enforcement officials learned the child fell off a boat dock at a private residence in the 8000 block of Lakeview St.
"CPR was administered, and EMS transported the child to North Austin Medical Center," Block told Patch in an emailed response to questions. "She was pronounced deceased at the hospital."

Block said the drowning appears to have been accidental. Still, an autopsy is scheduled to determine the official cause of death, she said.
"At this point, the death appears to be an accidental drowning," Block said. "However, the Travis County Medical Examiner's Office will determine cause and manner of death. Their determination will most likely be made next week."

Officials did not release the name of the deceased.
The drowning was one of several harrowing incidents occurring Saturday at Lake Travis just two days ahead of ahead of July 4 -- including a boat collision that injured three women and the crash of a small airplane into the lake that resulted in no injuries.
Lake Travis had been closed after May floods that filled the lake to capacity and deposited extra debris, which made conditions at the lake treacherous. The waterway was re-opened on June 10.
