Here are the top stories today in Austin:
1) Texas House report shows 'systemic failures' across every law enforcement agency responding to the mass shooting in Uvalde. Nearly 2 months after 19 children and two teachers were murdered at Robb Elementary, the victims' families were shown a 77-page report detailing the chain of events during the mass shooting. The Texas House committee tasked with investigating the shooting cite "systemic failures and egregiously poor decision making" at the center of the May 24th shooting. 2) Saharan dust brings hazy conditions across the state of Texas. Austin's Air Quality Index is currently at the "moderate" level due to dust from the Sahara and slightly elevated levels of ozone. Health officials suggest that local residents with lung conditions consider limiting their time outdoors over the next few days. KVUE has more on this story here.
