Upcoming Hillary Clinton Downtown Austin Book-Signing Sold Out
BookPeople will stage the book-signing for Clintons memoir on last year's presidential race, titled "What Happened."
AUSTIN, TX — Hillary Clinton — who got more than 3 million votes in the presidential contest over her political rival who secured the Electoral College vote — can still pull in a crowd: According to organizers of her upcoming book-signing, the November event already is sold out.
The former First Lady, U.S. senator, U.S. secretary of state and Democratic candidate for the presidency of the United States, Clinton will be signing copies of her new book "What Happened," at the BookPeople store. The tome is something of a memoir about last year's presidential election that gave her the popular vote, but came up short in securing Electoral College votes that cinched the presidency for former reality television star/real estate mogul Donald Trump.
Organizers at BookPeople, 603 N. Lamar, set an admission price to the event of $30 for the noon book-signing, which includes the book itself and a wristband ensuring access. Within hours, the Nov. 17 event was sold out.

Seucurity at the event promises to be tight. Those without wristbands won't be allowed near the place, according to the BookPeople website, and bags will be confiscated: “Any personal items that cannot be pocketed will not be permitted in the signing space and will be checked upon entry to the store," organizers wrote. "This includes backpacks, purses, shopping bags, etc.”
