UT-Austin Student Arrested In Mom's Death: Police
Police responded to the Holiday Inn Express & Suites on Wednesday where they found the victim face-down on the floor, according to reports.

AUSTIN, TX — A University of Texas at Austin student has been arrested after his mom was found dead at a downtown hotel earlier this week, according to reports.
Police responded to Room 531 of the Holiday Inn Express & Suites at 805 Neches St. on Wednesday just before 4:45 a.m. after a caller alerted police somebody was screaming, according to a press advisory. Upon arrival, police found a woman unresponsive on the floor with obvious trauma to her body, officials said. Austin-Travis County EMS examined the victim before pronouncing her dead at 6:12 a.m., according to the advisory.
Police on Friday identified the victim as Kehinde Olayeye, who was 48 years old at the time of her death. Her son, Eyitoluwa Olayeye, 20, subsequently was arrested after being charged with homicide, police said. According to various media reports, he is a student at UT-Austin.

Police have declined to provide further details, citing the ongoing nature of the investigation.
