Here are the top stories in Austin today:

1) Robb Elementary School principal is on paid leave two months after the Uvalde mass shooting. Mandy Gutierrez, principal of Robert Elementary School, is the third local official to be suspended as a result of the shooting on May 24. The Tribune reports: "According to an interim report by a state House committee that investigated the May 24 shooting, Gutierrez and others at the school knew the lock for Room 111, where the gunman entered and killed most of his victims, wasn't working properly. The teacher in that classroom, Arnulfo Reyes, had reported to school officials that his classroom door didn't always lock properly but no one prepared a work order to have it fixed, the report said." The Texas Tribune has more on this developing story here.

2) Dozens gather in the rotunda of the Texas State Capitol to protest book-banning policies. The "Teach The Truth Read-In" protest took place at the Capitol yesterday while the House Public Education Committee held a school curriculum hearing. Activists were protesting the recent movement of banning books in certain school libraries. Check out the full story here at KVUE.

3) Victim stabbed at Waterloo Park has been identified. The Austin Police Department received multiple calls last Thursday regarding a man running through the roadway covered in blood, near Waterloo Park. The man was taken to Dell Seton Medical where he later was pronounced dead. APD has identified the man as 36-year-old Edarius Johnson. KXAN has more on this story here.

4) Wanted: Domino's Pizza Robbery Suspect. APD is on the hunt for the suspect of an armed robbery at a South Austin Domino's Pizza. Law enforcement officers said the suspect flashed a handgun at employees before leaving the scene with cash.

Anyone with information about this incident should call the APD Robbery tip line at 512-974-5092, or Crime Stoppers at 512-472-TIPS. Learn more about this incident here at KXAN.
