Woman Killed In Domestic Violence Identified By Austin Police

Police arrived at a home along the 7500 block of Rio Pass on Saturday, Dec. 21, where they found a woman with obvious blunt trauma.

EAST AUSTIN, TX — Police on Monday identified the woman who was killed in a domestic violence incident over the weekend.

The incident occurred on Saturday, Dec. 21, just before 9 p.m. along the 7500 block of Rio Pass. Upon their arrival, police encountered a witness outside a home who had been assaulted. The person pointed out a man accused of the assault as he exited the home before police placed him in custody, officials said in a press advisory.

The witness alerted police the man's wife was motionless inside the home. Officers entered the home to find the woman unconscious and not breathing, with obvious blunt trauma, police said. After officers administered first aid, the woman was transported to Dell Seton Medical Center where she died on her injuries.

Police identified the woman as Diamond D. Bridgeman, 29. Police arrested the woman's husband, 21-year-old Juan-Ya O. Touchstone.

Law enforcement officials did not reveal the manner of the woman's death pending the outcome of Travis County Medical Examiner's office findings. Police have scheduled a press conference at 1:30 p.m. on Monday to provide more details.
