Arrest Made In East Austin Stabbing (Video)
Phone theft sparks melee resulting in arrest of Alvin Madison, 21, and warrant for Tony Walker, 25, in which one man stabbed 17 times.

EAST AUSTIN, TX — Charges were filed Monday in connection to a multiple stabbing incident the night before in East Austin, police said.
Tony Walker, 25, has been charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, police said in a press conference. Another suspect, Alvin Madison, 21, was arrested and charged was charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon. Police indicated Walker hadn't been detained, but a warrant is out for his arrest.
The incident occurred when Walker's brother, Madison, got into a disagreement with a woman and her boyfriend. The woman's son's phone apparently had been stolen, and the victims used the GPS tracking app to locate the device, although the phone was not ultimately recovered, a police spokeswoman said.

Madison reportedly acknowledged having sold the phone to someone else, offering to pay for it—an offer the woman declined. The two parties then went their separate ways but two cars later pulled up to the woman's apartment complex along the 6100 block of Fairway Street.
It was then that several people exited the arriving vehicles and started to attack the woman and her boyfriend. The spokeswoman said bats and sticks were used during the attack. The male victim was stabbed 17 times, according to police, and he is now hospitalized with life-threatening injuries.

All told, police said four people were hospitalized, including two with stab wounds.
An investigation into the matter continues, police said.
