East Austin Shooting Leaves Man Critically Injured

EAST AUSTIN, TX — A shooting in East Austin on Wednesday night has left a man critically injured, emergency officials said.

According to Austin-Travis County EMS officials, the male victim in his 40s was critically injured in the shooting incident. It happened just past 9:30 p.m. along the 2200 block of East Cesar Chavez Street, EMS medics said via Twitter.

The injured man was rushed to Dell Seton Medical Center with critical, life-threatening injuries, EMS officials said. Police haven't released any further details, and it's unknown if a suspect has been arrested. It's also unclear if what may have led to the shooting.

This was the second shooting on Wednesday night in less than two hours' time. Just before 8 p.m. in North Austin, a shooting along the 6700 block of Guadalupe Street left a man dead and a woman critically injured.
