Police Identify Traffic Fatality Victim UPDATE
Raquel Escalante-Martinez was 21 years old.

Police have identified the victim of an early-morning fatal traffic accident earlier this week, and have added charges to the person believed to have been responsible for the accident.
Raquel Escalante-Martinez, 21, was dead at the scene of a one-car wreck in the 700 block of Tillery St. on Wednesday morning. Rene Martinez, 30, was later determined to have been the driver involved in the 2:36 a.m. accident.
According to police, a gold-colored Chevrolet Monte Carlo was traveling northbound on Tillery Street before striking a utility pole. Escalante-Martinez, the passenger, was thrown from the car.

On Thursday morning, police disclosed they had formally charged Martinez with manslaughter, intoxication manslaughter and failure to stop and render aid. He was initially arrested at the scene for DWI.
No other information was forthcoming as police continue their investigation. The relationship between the victim and suspect is unknown.
