Shooting Victim Critically Injured In East Austin

Incident along the 5700 block of Manor Road leaves person with critical, life-threatening injuries, Austin-Travis County EMS says.

EAST AUSTIN, TEXAS — A gunshot victim in East Austin was left with life-threatening injuries on Tuesday evening, emergency officials said.

The incident occurred along the 5700 block of Manor Road just before 8 p.m., according to Austin-Travis County EMS officials. The patient's wounds were deemed "critical life-threatening" injuries by medics, who did not identify the age or gender of the victim as they typically do with updates on Twitter.

No further information was made available. It's unclear if any arrest has been made.

The incident was the second violent episode in Austin on Tuesday evening. Just before 3 p.m. the same day, police responded to the WoodSprings Suites hotel along the 11100 block if Interstate 35 after a person was killed in either a stabbing or shooting at that location. Police described that victim's wounds only as "penetrating trauma," and said they will wait for the medical examiner's investigation before specifying the nature of the fatal injuries.
