Police Investigate Possible North Austin Fatal Shooting
Incident just before 3 p.m. occurred along 11100 block of Interstate 35 at the WoodSpringe Suites deemed a 'suspicious death.'

NORTH AUSTIN, TEXAS — Austin police were investigating a possible fatal shooting in North Austin Tuesday afternoon, urging residents to avoid the area in the meantime.
The emergency call to police came in at around 2:48 p.m., with police showing up at the scene along a frontage road at the WoodSprings Suites in the 11100 block of Interstate 35 within two minutes' time, according to a press advisory. While classifying it as a possible shooting, police allowed the incident may have been a stabbing.
The case now is being deemed a "suspicious death," according to police.

According to Hotels.com, the four-story WoodSprings Suites, a 2-star hotel housing modest studios, contains 121 rooms arranged on floor floors, with rooms starting at $60. The exact address is 11105 I-35 frontage road.
Police provided no further details, but indicated they would stage a press briefing later in the evening. Patch will update as more information is known.
