Man refused field sobriety test following Edinburg crash that killed mother, injured 2 boys: Docs (valleycentral.com) — A serious two-vehicle crash in Edinburg left a mother dead and two young boys critically hurt, with police alleging the other driver showed signs of intoxication and refused sobriety testing. City officials say one boy is now stable while the other remains in critical but stable condition, and the suspect is jailed on over $1 million bond.

Edinburg smoke shop barricade suspect demanded ‘pre-roll' THC products before capture: Records (valleycentral.com) — Edinburg police and SWAT arrested a 23-year-old local man after a four-hour standoff at Got Vapes Smoke Shop, where he allegedly robbed the cashier at gunpoint and demanded cash and THC pre-rolls. Texas public schools enrollment drops by 76k students: Report (newsnationnow.com) — Public schools in the Edinburg region are among the hardest hit in Texas, losing at least 2.5% of their students as statewide enrollment drops by more than 76,000. Experts say fewer young children and lower birth rates are driving the decline, which could strain district budgets for years and may be compounded when new Education Freedom Accounts launch next year.
