It Has an Unmanned Turret, an Autoloader, and a Crew of 3 Instead of 4 ā th (19fortyfive.com) ā Soldiers at Fort Hoodās 1st Cavalry Division are set to receive four prototype M1E3 Abrams tanks later this year, years ahead of the original schedule. Local troops will test the lighter, more fuel-efficient, three-person tanks and give feedback before taking them to the National Training Center in California in 2027, helping shape Americaās next-generation main battle tank.

The program, backed by up to $2.2 billion, aims to test compact, low-carbon reactors while addressing questions about cost, safety, and waste management that will shape any future deployment in Central Texas.
