The City of Fort Worth is bringing back Movies That Matter, a free film series aimed at highlighting human rights issue worldwide, later this month.

The city announced in a blog post that the series would return at 7 p.m. on Thursday, May 28, at the Modern Art Museum of Fort Worth, 3200 Darnell St.

This month's film will be "The Revolution Generation," which was released in 2021. Admission is free, but residents should make reservations online.

An exploration of world-changing activism and the potential of the largest youth generation in history, the film shows examples of young leaders working to revolutionize systems that have failed their generation.

It paints a powerful and hopeful picture of how today's youth can solve global political and environmental crises.

Fort Worth Movies That Matter is a free, quarterly film series established in 2010 to create awareness in the community about human rights issues affecting people in Fort Worth and across the world.

Each event features a film screening, followed by a moderated discussion intended to offer space for reflection and dialogue. Screenings are held in March, June, September, and December.

The program's future was put in doubt temporarily as City Council voted to end the city's diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives last year.
