City of Fort Worth Cooling, Water Stations Open Now Through Sep. 18
Community providers saw an increase in heat-related illnesses and deaths in the summer of 2022.
It is no secret that Texas summers come with extreme heat that is life-threatening to vulnerable residents, particularly those experiencing homelessness.
That's why the City of Fort Worth partners with local nonprofits every summer to provide greater access to cooling centers during the hottest part of the year.
The initiative started after community providers saw an increase in heat-related illnesses and deaths in the summer of 2022.
